Adult Time is one of the largest streaming memberships in the market, and it does one thing genuinely better than almost everything else in this guide: you can cancel on the site, in your own account, without phoning a payment processor you have never heard of. That is worth real money in avoided aggravation, and most competitors do not offer it.
Cancelling is not refunding.
The standard term applies and it is worth being clear about: cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the period you are in. Access runs to the end of the term you have already paid for, then stops.
So the money-saving move is to cancel when you decide to leave, not on the renewal date — you keep the access you already bought, and you cannot then forget. There is no advantage whatsoever to waiting.
The pending class action over trial signups.
Against the above, there is a specific and serious allegation on the record that any prospective buyer should know about before taking a trial.
Booe et al. v. GammaBilling Inc. was filed in August 2023 in the US District Court for the Central District of California (case no. 23-cv-8568) and was still pending at our last check. The complaint alleges deceptive billing — specifically that consumers signing up for a "trial" membership are enrolled in additional memberships and charged monthly fees for them.
Read that precisely, because it is a materially different and more consequential claim than the ordinary trial-converts-to-full-price complaint. The allegation is not merely that the trial you chose begins billing. It is that further subscriptions, which the consumer did not set out to buy, are attached alongside it. If accurate, the thing to watch on your statement is not one charge but a count of charges.
These are unproven allegations and we take no position on the outcome. But it directly qualifies the positive verdict above: easy on-site cancellation is worth a great deal, and it is worth much less if the thing you need to cancel is not the only thing that was created. The defensive step costs nothing — after taking any trial here, check your statement for more than one line from the biller, and check again on the following cycle. Treat any pre-ticked cross-sale on the payment screen with corresponding suspicion.

The base membership and the channel add-ons are not the same purchase. Add-ons attach to your account as additional recurring charges, and because they are presented as part of the same experience it is easy to end up with a bill that is meaningfully larger than the membership price you signed up for.
When you audit this one, audit the add-ons — cancelling the base membership is not automatically the end of everything attached to it.
What the membership is actually good at.
Breadth. This is a genuinely large streaming catalogue spanning a wide range of studios and styles under one login, which is exactly the case where a subscription makes more sense than buying à la carte: if you would otherwise be buying from four different places, one membership is cheaper and simpler.
The permanent caveat is unchanged. It is rented breadth. Cancel and all of it goes at once — which is the specific risk of consolidating your viewing into a single subscription rather than owning anything.
