Free entry is the expensive part.

You can browse without paying, and this is precisely what makes the model work commercially. A subscription forces one conscious decision to spend, then nothing. Now the number the platform has no reason to put in front of you. A token is reported to be worth about $0.05 to the performer. You paid roughly $0.08–$0.14 for it. Roughly half of what you spend is retained by the platform.

That matters because "supporting performers directly" is a common reason for choosing cams over a studio subscription, and at this split it is only about half true. For comparison, OnlyFans takes 20%. If direct support is genuinely your motivation, a creator subscription delivers substantially more of your money to the person than a cam tip does.
