Pornhub Premium review.

Most people assessing Pornhub Premium are valuing it against a memory. The site they are picturing is the pre-2021 one — effectively unlimited, uploaded by anyone, containing whatever anyone had put there. That site no longer exists, and the difference is not cosmetic. Judging a subscription against a catalogue that was removed years ago is the single most common mistake made about this platform, so that is where an honest review has to start.

The catalogue is not the one you remember.

In December 2020, following reporting on non-consensual and underage material, Visa and Mastercard both blocked the use of their cards on the site, and Discover followed. The platform's response was to remove every video uploaded by an account that had not been verified. The visible library shrank enormously and effectively overnight, and the policy that replaced it is the one still in force: uploads come from verified accounts and content partners, not from anyone with an email address.

Whatever view you take of the events that caused it, the consumer consequence is simple and rarely stated. The free tier is far smaller and more curated than it used to be, and the paid tier is sold on top of that smaller base. Anyone whose sense of the site's value was formed before the purge is valuing something that is no longer on sale.

There is a genuine upside, and it deserves saying: what remains is materially more likely to be consensual, verified and legitimately uploaded. If that matters to you, it is a real argument for this platform over less scrupulous tube sites — and it is the strongest thing we can say in its favour.

What the subscription adds on top.

The premium tier follows the standard tube-site pattern: advertising removed, an exclusive and studio-supplied catalogue opened up, higher-quality playback, and downloads on eligible titles. There is also a VR section, the most genuinely differentiated part of the offer and also the part most likely to go unused, because it needs hardware you may not own.

The honest framing is that you are buying two different things bundled at one price: a nuisance removed, and a distinct studio-grade catalogue added. Work out which of the two you are actually paying for — if it is only the first, you are paying a recurring fee for silence.

On price we will not quote you a figure. The numbers circulating widely for this product trace back to coverage of a 2020 promotional giveaway or to crowd-sourced charge-identification sites, and are years stale. Read the rate off the payment screen.

The enforcement record — the thing that actually distinguishes this platform.

This is the section worth your attention, because it is checkable, it is recent, and it is the opposite of what a review with an affiliate link would lead on.

December 2023 — deferred prosecution agreement. Aylo Holdings entered into an agreement with the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York over unlawful monetary transactions involving the proceeds of sex trafficking, connected to GirlsDoPorn content hosted between 2017 and 2019. The company agreed to pay over $1.8 million to the US government plus separate payments to the women harmed, and to operate under an independent monitor for three years, after which the charge is dismissed if it complies. There was no guilty plea.

September 2025 — FTC and Utah settlement. A $15 million penalty was imposed, suspended after $5 million was paid to Utah, with the remaining $10 million payable if the order is violated. The order requires a programme to prevent child sexual abuse material and non-consensual material, an adult-verification system with documented consent, removal of content predating that programme until age and consent are confirmed, a privacy and security programme, and independent third-party audits every two years for ten years.

March 2026 — European Commission preliminary findings. Having opened Digital Services Act proceedings in May 2025, the Commission preliminarily found this and three other pornographic platforms in breach for allowing minors to access their services. These are preliminary findings, not a final decision.

We are not listing these to editorialise. We list them because the honest reading cuts both ways and you should have both halves. On one hand, this is a platform with a documented history serious enough to attract a deferred prosecution agreement and a ten-year audit obligation. On the other, it is now among the most heavily supervised operators in the entire sector — an independent monitor and decade-long third-party audits are a level of external scrutiny that essentially none of its competitors is subject to. If accountability is what you care about, the company with the enforcement record is now, somewhat counter-intuitively, the one being watched most closely.

Availability: the question that comes before value.

Unusually for a subscription review, the first thing to establish is not what it costs but whether you can use it.

The operator has responded to age-verification legislation differently from most competitors: rather than implement identity checks everywhere they are demanded, it has in several cases withdrawn access from the territory entirely. It blacked out France in June 2025 over that country's age-verification law, and it has done the same across a number of US states as legislation has moved. Where it has chosen to comply instead — as it stated it would for the UK's Online Safety Act in July 2025 — access continues behind an age check.

We are deliberately not publishing a list of affected jurisdictions. Any list would be out of date quickly, and the widely circulated versions of it contain errors — at least one commonly repeated list includes a state where the operator implemented verification rather than withdrawing. The structural point is what matters: this is a subscription whose availability where you live can end without your subscription ending. That risk does not apply to most recurring charges, and it is a strong argument against prepaying a long term here specifically.

Check the site loads normally from your usual connection before you buy, and pay monthly until the rules where you live have settled.

Who you are buying from, and what the charge says.

The site is operated by Aylo — the company formerly called MindGeek, acquired in March 2023 by the Canadian private investment firm Ethical Capital Partners and renamed that August. The same operator sits behind a large share of the tube and studio brands you will encounter elsewhere in this guide.

That matters for one practical reason rather than as background colour: when a single operator runs both the free tube site and several of the paid brands it advertises to you, the "alternatives" you are shown as you consider cancelling are frequently not alternatives at all. They are other products from the same company. Comparison shopping has to be done off-site, which is most of why this guide exists.

On your statement, the charge will not say the site name. Billing runs through the group's own billing arm, and the descriptor is widely reported to be a ProBiller reference with a support telephone number attached. We report that as reported rather than confirmed — and note that the group has publicly described payment-platform work with more than one provider, so do not assume a single biller handles every subscription. If you cannot match a charge to a subscription visible in your account, search the descriptor itself rather than the brand.

Cancelling, the app-store trap, and what you keep.

Cancellation is done through your account's subscription settings or the Premium support portal, and takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. As tube-site subscriptions go this is one of the more straightforward exits in the guide.

The failure mode is signing up in one place and cancelling in another. A subscription bought through a mobile app store is administered by that store, and neither the website nor the support desk can stop it. If you cannot find a live subscription in your account settings, that is the strongest possible clue the charge is not coming from where you are looking.

One ordering detail that is repeated consistently and is worth following: cancel the subscription before deleting the account, not after. Deleting a profile does not instruct the biller to stop, and having deleted it you have thrown away the account page that evidences what you were subscribed to. Kill the rebill first, then close the account.

If you paid by prepaid voucher rather than a card, you have bought a fixed term rather than entered a recurring arrangement — nothing to cancel, and equally nothing recoverable if access is withdrawn where you live before it ends.

You keep nothing except downloads taken while subscribed. Our verdict: a competently run subscription with a clearer exit than most of this market, sold on a library smaller than its reputation, by an operator under more external supervision than any of its rivals, in a regulatory position that makes long prepayments unwise. For a heavy regular user where access is stable, defensible. For anyone whose mental image of the site predates 2021, the thing being sold is not the thing being remembered — and that gap, not the price, is where the disappointment comes from.

• You use the site heavily and regularly, and the advertising is a genuine irritation rather than a minor one.
• The verified-uploader policy matters to you — it is a real difference from less scrupulous tube sites.
• You own VR hardware and will actually use that part of the offer.

Skip it if

• Your sense of the catalogue was formed before 2021. The library you are picturing was removed and is not what is on sale.
• You live somewhere the operator has withdrawn access, or may. Confirm reachability before paying, and never prepay a year into that uncertainty.
• You want to own what you pay for — only downloads survive cancellation.
